If the Dodgers lose the division, they still have the WC so that's not as big as the Mets. Detroit isn't as big of a market as NY, and the Tigers are as well known to the casual fan as the Mets so, no they wouldn't get as much coverage. All depends. The Dodgers blowing a 6 game lead with 7 to play and the Tigers a 3 game lead with 4 to play. The Dodgers will stay make the playoffs but they would've blown home field. Question. If either blows it, if not both, do you think the sports media will be all over either team for choking away a Division title? Do you think the coverage will be equal to what the Mets received the past two seasons for blowing their leads or will it be less because it's not NYC? It was game 162 that seemed to trip them up. Can't wait for the off season. Gonna be a real fun one! If it starts with jerry and the coaches getting canned (at least warthen and razor!), that will be a nice way to get it going.
