Im sure Santana doesnt care bc he is 140 million dollars richer than he wouldve been if he was still on Minnesota. If he loved winning and playing in the playoffs so much he wouldnt have left the Twins to come to the Mets.
Exactly, sorry to say, i’m not crying for Santana, he made his choice to come to NYC, but i am glad for Gomez and any of the other ex Mets who are on this team that i hope will wreak havoc on the Yankees for the next few games.
The twins finished 79 and 83 in 2007 with Santana, 17 games out of first. The Mets finished 88 and 74 without him, 1 game out of first. Noone possibly could have thought that the twins had a better shot than the Mets to go to the playoffs.
Santana wanted to stay in Minny but the Twins billionaire penny pincher of an owner didn’t want to even come close to market value. The Twins are owned by a billionaire who has more money than the Wilpons and Steinbrenners he just doesn’t want to spend any of it. I feel sorry for the Twins fans but not the organization. I believe he didn’t even put in a dime for the new stadium which is crazy.
Besides if they had Santana they probably make it go 4 games since the Yankees would just spank the other starters.
