The assumption is that they won't trade him unless they get a ton back for him because his value is low. I don't think this is correct. Upton's value hasn't been high in two years, almost. He was hurt last year and did have a great playoff last year, and he's showing that he is inconsistent in hitting style other than being a flyball hitter. I think the Rays would rather get SOME value for him rather then having to pay Upton arbitration and eventually just let him go.
