Read: Non-Player Free Agents Can Help Mets
Ben Shpigel of the New York Times suggests that the Mets should not just limit their focus to players when fixing the Mets this offseason, but should consider upgrading their management staff.

Shpigel suggests that the Mets consider both Tony LaRussa and Dave Duncan as well as Bobby Valentine as either on field or front office replacements, but worries that when the Mets are ready to shakeup management, these candidates might no longer be available.
…i personally never liked LaRussa, but the bottom line is that he has won seven NL Central Titles, two pennants and one World Series, since taking over for Joe Torre in 1996, and has always found a way to get the most out of his players despite the quirky lineups, rotations, and bullpen moves…so from that standpoint, i can’t argue with winning…
