Bean Stringfellow, the agent for former Met Billy Wagner, told reporters that Wagner has no intention of retiring.
Stringfellow told reporters:
“He wants a ring and he did not do all that rehab just to quit now…”
Stringfellow explained the comments made by Wagner after the Red Sox were swept by the Angels in the ALDS, telling the Boston Herald:
“Those comments probably came right after the Red Sox lost, so I’d bet they were said in the heat of the moment, when he was very frustrated…that’s probably not the best time to take comments like that as gospel.”
The Red Sox agreed to not pick up his option for next year but are expected to offer Wagner arbitration, and Wagner is expected to decline that offer.

He wants a ring? He ain’t going to the Nats! The Braves could easily leap frog the Phillies in 2010. That’s my Billy Wagner prediction
Check this out about Jamarillo.
I like Hojo, but …

could imaging a staff of bobby v., duncan and jaramillo. and the funny thing is that they are all available.
and could all be likely had for the price of a Type B free agent
but then we’d have to get rid of Jerry and Warthen.
oh wait…i like this idea very much
the fact that jerry and warthen are still here is proof positive that this organization has no desire nor clue how to win.
does anyone have espn insider…. i saw that holliday may have issues with mets bc citifield is too big but i dont have a subscription so i cant read it
Purely speculation by Marty Noble, wondering if the large size of Citi would deter Holliday from signing.
another shock, marty noble being annoying
I think the Bosox try and resign Wagner, and then trade Papelbon. I imagine they could get a good bat for Papelbon, and not have to worry about him shooting off his mouth.
Thanks guys. This is Hollidays chance to get PAID…. i dont think the size of the ball park will affect him as long as we PAY him…….
