News: Reyes to have Surgery Tomorrow
By Michael Baron - Oct 14, 2009 8:23 pm

Jose Reyes will have surgery tomorrow to eliminate scar tissue behind his right knee.

Reyes will have the operation performed by Dr. Daniel E. Cooper at North Central Surgical in Dallas.

Doctors feel that the tear to the hamstring muscle will heal with rest, and Reyes is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for Spring Training.

I miss Jose, I can’t wait to see him back on the field

  3. DominicanBoy08 says:

man, the next time I see jose on the field, it will be like a new addition to the mets, like we signed or trade for a superstar SS.
GET WELL JOSE.. TU ERES EL MEJOR!!!

Jose you’re our boy, don’t ever forget it. Mets for life. If there was a year to miss it was this one. Good Luck and thank you for your effort.

There is no one, NO ONE more exciting to watch when Jose is playing and rounding third stretching a double into a “treeple.” Rest up and get well soon Jose, we miss you and need you!

I hope hes good to go next year. I still can’t figure out why he didnt have this surgery months ago.

Dollars to donuts, he’ll need the hammy surgery in 6 months. I just don’t understand why they won’t just perform the “minor” hammy procedure while they’re @ it.

Only time will tell, good luck and G_B_ Jose.

Jose is my favorite player to watch on the mets, and the season really went down the tubes once he got hurt. It is important to get off on the right foot and without Jose in the lineup, things just didn’t take off some games.

Get well, and be ready for a long run next season Jose.

Jose is not only our ss, he is our leadoff hitter. When you lose him you have to replace 2 parts of your team. Getting Jose back will be a HUGE boost for the Mets. Jose will have a HUGE season next year mark my words. Get well Jose, I will keep you in my prayers…. PLEASE BE HEALTHY…. we need you!!!!!!!

    Reyes
    Castillo
    Wright
    Beltran
    Holliday
    Murphy
    F Core
    Thole/Santos

    Santana
    Doc
    Sheets
    Pelfrey
    Perez/ Maine

Please let this be our squad next year! I think this is extremely possible. Ownership won’t have to break the bank for this to happen and imo we have the pieces to land Doc.

first off… holliday would bat cleanup .. second: i like your idea of maybe not having maine in the rotation..i would actually like to see him set up krod .. but lackey is more realistic than haliday .. plus you gotta think long term… we would be giving up prospects with hopes of locking up a 32 year old pitcher long term.. but wright and reyes are only a few years away from free agency .. among others… long team man long term

      • jromer01 says:

Long Term…. Lackey is 31! What is the difference of signing Doc than Lackey, one year? First off, Doc is in phenomenal shape and MUCH better shape than lackey. The two dont even compare physically. Lackey is a typical move that would appease to fans but win us nothing. Lackey is an injury waiting to happen. Let’s see if the Angels try and re-sign him…… Holliday would NOT bat clean up… You need Beltran to break up Wright and Holliday, the two righties, obviousally Beltran is a switch hitter. Giving up prospects for THE 2ND BEST PITCHER, besides Johan IN THE GAME IS WORTH IT…. IMO. You have to give to get. Lackey doesn’t come close to Doc……. I do like Lackey do not get me wrong but please there is no comparison between Doc and John Lackey.
