Adam Rubin, in today’s Daily News, says that Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya will travel to Surprise, Arizona today to watch Jenrry Mejia make his AFL debut for the Surprise Rafters.
This past season, Mejia went 4-6 with a 3.14 ERA between St. Lucie and Binghamton, and gave up only two home runs in 94 2/3 innings.
…i don’t know how Mejia figures into the plans for next season considering he is only 20, but i have to believe he is going to get a long look at Spring Training, and given his progress, i’d have to believe we will be seeing him in the big leagues at some point next year…
