Read: The Trade Market for Hawpe

by Michael Baron on October 17th, 2009 at 11:02 am

Adam Bernacchio, from The Ghost of Moonlight Graham, takes an in depth look at Brad Hawpe and the trade market that surrounds him.

Bernacchio points out that Hawpe is a remarkably consistent hitter and he is not a “product of Coors Field” in that he hit more home runs on the road (14) than he did at home (9).

He does point out, however, that Hawpe is an “offensive” right fielder, saying Hawpe might be one of the worst defensive right fielders in baseball.

…despite the defensive problems, i can’t envision a scenario where the Mets won’t be looking into acquiring Hawpe, unless they are able to acquire eith Jason Bay or Matt Holliday…i don’t think any of the three choices are going to win gold gloves out in left field…i feel that if the Mets are looking more towards a defensive oriented outfielder, they should strongly consider Carl Crawford instead…

I’m Reading: Curses, Chutzpah, Pedro, Uniform Unanimity

by Michael Baron on October 17th, 2009 at 8:42 am

The Optimistic Mets Fan wonders if WFAN has cursed the Mets.

Joe from Mets Today says that nobody has the chutzpah to make a decision about the future of Bobby Parnell.

Adam, the Brooklyn Met Fan, is proud of the performance given by Pedro Martinez in Game 2 of the NLCS.

Finally, Shannon from Mets Police notices that every Yankee fan is dressed the same at games, but in Flushing there is a mish mosh of different uniforms that fans wear.
