ignorant inconveniences...

that's pretty good. I can definitely see that perspective in some writers.

You don't think calling Ryan Church soft because he couldn't play well after multiple mistreated concussions is the sign of a great leader?

You don't think throwing all the guys who played hard for you under the bus by saying "jokingly" that you deserved manager of the year for winning 70 games with the team you had this year is the sign of creating a professional environment?

hahahahahaha. Manuel doesn't get more than a three in any of those categories.

In fact, I'd give him a 1 for Tactician. Give me one guy on the Mets that over-performed last season, consistently.

Johan, totally agree with you. While I actually agree with Marty in this mailbag, the contempt he shows for his readers is astounding. Especially considering his own limited knowledge of baseball.

To me, his attitude perfectly sums up the mainstream media's stance toward regular fans -- that of ignorant inconveniences. And while that may be true in some cases, we're a large reason why they have jobs, and they're attitude is a large reason they've become increasingly irrelevant.

you do make a good point, i mean there are times on here i want to call people a dumba** (but i don't, so i'm sure he could restrain himself) maybe that is just his personality, i used to read the inboxes a lot till they just made me angry and as i said before he doesn't seem to care about the mets. I just don't read his stuff anymore really, which is a shame because the inbox is something interesting

i know what you're saying and i can't actually believe i might defend him, so instead, lets go devil's advocate...

think about some of the random illogical and short-sighted comments we see here on metsblog and then thing about ALL the emails he probably gets which only multiplies all those mind-boggling thoughts and wouldn't that drive you crazy over the years he's been doing it. Plus, I remember him saying he has no allegience to any baseball team, or some noble cr*p like that.

Thats exactly what Matt was talking about. He didnt state it outright, but he was talking about Game 3 and that before Girardi gift-wrapped the game for them, they almost gave that game away themselves. And b/c, in fact, they did win, will their sloppy play continue?

thanks for the quick summary, it doesn't seem so bad but i really can't take reading his stuff it is always saying something negative and he always makes fun of the fans that write to him, i just feel like he doesn't like the mets too much and that aggravates me
