As much as I hate to say it, Lowes sinker would do wonders in Citifield and his numbers would likely be better for it, not too mention he wouldn't have the added pressure of being an Ace. That said I still say the Braves would have to pay atleast part of his salary given his age and the fact he didn't deserve that kind of money to begin with given his career numbers!

Lost in the deserved Mets front office bashing is, while they were wrong on Perez, they were right on Lowe. I noticed Michael Kay and his ilk were quick to point out how good Lowe was the first two and a half months, but not so quick to point out how poorly he pitched in the second half.

Just say no to Lowe.

Lowe & Perez can't be on the same pitching staff...

ATL has an excellent group of starters, and a weak pen - esp. if there's truth to the rumor that they'll let one of Gonzalez & Soriano go. It might be interesting to see if they would be interested in Perez + Putz (plus Nick Evans, maybe) for Lowe + Omar Infante, who could be our "super sub" and fill in at SS or 2B for an extended period of time (instead of Cora, btw - or maybe in tandem with him, although it's a lot of $$ for backup IFs)

Infante doesn't really have a home in ATL, with Prado doing so well @ 2B and Diaz in RF (he doesn't have enough power to be their LF either).

I hate the thought of helping the Braves, but it's all about beating PHL...

I can't imagine the Mets being interesting in Lowe. What's the difference between going 4 years, 60 million when he's 35 and 3 years 45 million when he's 36?

And really, they shouldn't. He wasn't that great this year and he'll only get worse as he gets older.
