Consider him to be a quiet investment, and if he matures into the real deal, then we are that much richer, that much more blessed. In the same vein, if we resolve our outfield for years to come, and he starts mashing AAA pitching, he may resurrect his trade value, which plummeted this year. F-Mart appears unable to lay off high fastballs, anything in the dirt and he definitely cannot hit a major league change-up. He's young, but I was thoroughly unimpressed by his presence and performance in MLB. He's at least a year or two away and he needs to demonstrate he can endure a season w/o the DL. Currently, I am neither expecting nor counting on F-Mart for anything. I’ve wondered about that.

Some men have stopped growing at 18. Others at 22. For the moment, especially given the injury history, I think FMart is still growing. Good, he'll be bigger and stronger when he gets to the Mets. Once he got back to the NL on a legitimate offense he put up numbers. The Mets must sign this guy, I just hope it is to less than 7 years since he will be 30 next year.
