the mets locker room needs to move away from manual…i know they had a ton of injuries but the team still quit and i blame that on jerry…

Yeah I agree, I don’t want somebody who just went back home and didn’t even stay with the team even if he couldn’t play. He doesn’t seem like a team player. I enjoyed his time here and I don’t feel anger toward him but we need to move on

I also agree, if you can’t get a superstar 1B keep Murphy and tell him so he doesn’t have to go forever listening to, he can’t be the starting 1B

“Delgado needs to move on from the Mets”- he DID, abandoning the team and going back to PR before the end of the season. It’s the 10% fringe that is so in love with him that they can’t let it go. He cost us 50-60 MILLION dollars plus 3 valuable prospects. He had a few good spurts but for the most part it was very apparent that he was “bored”. At least Mo Vaughn gave a damn!

Bring back the X-man. Nady and Murphy could work very well together as a righty/lefty platoon. Also Nady could play some corner OF if needed and prove to be a useful player provided he is healthy.

Yeah but knowing Jerry, he’d be platooning with Tatis. LOL, we don’t need that. I think a little trust goes a long way, especially with a hard worker like Murphy.

No, enough with the platoons. Sign Holliday in LF, then tell Murphy right away he is our guy at 1B for 2010. Stop messing with the kid’s head. He obviously started doing much better when he played every day.

You know that no matter how bad an idea is raised, there will always be people popping up here to support it.

To me, Murph’s strengths (quickness, alertness, aggressiveness) and his weaknesses (range, agility) scream “corner infielder” But folks will try to fit a square peg in a round hole — I just hope no one in the organization thinks it’s an option.
