I see the Mets offering 2 years @ 15 million.

I could tolerate this if we also sign Lackey and Wolf.

can everybody relax please? I agree that Omar sometimes signs washed up veterans or guys that he may catch lightening in a bottle but he also signs high caliber players when he needs to fill a hole. Last off-season we needed a closer and he signed the best closer available, if he really was as bad as some people say he would have just signed fuentes or some other guy but he got his frankie. He knows what has to be done but it is just a question of if he takes us over the top (gets a LF and a pitcher) or just fills a hole (LF and leaves our rotation)

I agree Rambler. He is much younger than Alou, has legit power and can be had for a 1 yr deal. Save money there to put into other places.

I think that paying Dye 12 million a year is a lot of money. He would command a lot less than that.

Dye is not Moises. If we get a 1B I wouldnt have a problem with Dye is LF. He is not an option over Holliday, bay or any other impact bat. With that said, we may end up not having many options.

Jermaine Dye is not Alou because he is much more durable.
I think getting him on a one or two year deal to play LF is actually a good idea.
