I'm excited to see which aging, oft injured OF Omar throws 3 years at. Will it be Dye? Will it be Vlad? so many possibilities!

I think Dye has one good year left as a DH, but if we're even minorly worried about defense, we can't bring him in. This guy is a walking mummy out in RF.

Maybe because the D'Backs picked up his option and he's unavailable.

Why has nobody talked about Brandon Webb? That would be my number one target if I were Omar. The guy is a Cy Young winner and dominant sinker ball pitcher that would play well not only at Citi Field, but also in smaller ball parks against inter division rivals like the Phillies.

I think that is a solid idea actually. If you can't get 1 of the 2 bigs guys, just sign Dye nad then sign Lackey and another top pitcher then let the under performers maine, ollie and pelfrey compete with niese for the final 2 spots.

come on. I know its a joke...but Omar has never made such a reckless deal before. Ollie is a young lefty and Castillo was and still is a top 2nd baseman who really, in the big scheme of things doesnt make that much money.

Now if you said, here comes Matsui on a 1 year deal to play left field everyday, that I could see. I doubt he will make that mistake again...unless all other options fail.

I am a little confused. If Brad Hawpe is not the answer (which he isnt) how is Ankiel an answer? The guy hit 11 HRs in 122 games while slugging .387.

I don't like Vlad, given that he is creeky and old, and I don't like having 2 free swingers in the lineup...
I say that if the Mets can't get Holliday or Bay, sign Nady or Dye.
