I was thinking the same thing. Marte Should be there over Urbina, heck I would put even put Kirk AEIOUhouse over Urbina.

I do like the idea of Urbina and Matz rising at the same time. But, they are too young to expect anything of right now.

Keep going cheap in the draft wilpons. I just watched the end of the Yankees celebration at City Hall. And I thought to myself do our owners even care if they ever get to have that experience. I gotta say I don't think they care as long as we keep giving them our money theyre happy. The Wilpons make it hard to root for my own team.

I'm surprised to see Urbina ahead of Familia and Allen. The kid is 16 and hasn't thrown a pitch in the US yet. Familia and Allen are both coming off very solid years in the Sally.

I think the especially alarming thing is that only 2 of our top 10 prospects are MLB ready...and even that is questionable.

Im talking about Niese and Martinez by the way.

6 are years away, and 2 need at least 1 more year.

Although, I will say that its an impressive looking group if you throw aside the inexperience. This is a top 10 group that could be at the top of the league in 2 years. By then you would have to imagine that Holt will be ready for the MLB, along with Havens, Ike, Tejada, and Flores. Martinez will already be playing big league ball along with Niese and Urbina should probably only need 1-2 more years depending on his progress. Though likely its 2.

I would like to know what kind of money we spend signing kids from Latin America and how that balances out with the draft money.

this line from BA is disgraceful.

"Though the Mets bring in more money than most big league clubs, they continued to remain conservative in the draft. They spent just $3.1 million on the 2009 draft, the lowest figure in baseball."

Yikes. I dont know if its a condemnation of our other prospects who should have ranked ahead of him or the reflection of the future promise Mejia has. I say its the first.
