I dont think the Padres would want Davis. They have Kyle Blanks positioned to play 1B, so if they’re going trade Gonzalez, they dont need a young 1b back.

For me personally, i don’t see this even happening. The Mets don’t have anything in the farm to even use as bait for Gonzalez. It would be good for the Mets, but i just don’t see this happening. Unless, they try to trade one of the players on the 40 man roster the Pads would be attracted to, then maybe, but i don’t think so.

If Holliday and BAy are out of it, then we must trade for Agon. Then we must Sign a pitvher like LAckey not trade for a pitcher since we traded for 1B. THe we will add Crawford for a LF since the other two are gone. We then can sign Wolf or MArquis and get a catcher like Molina/Olivo/BArajas. We then will boost the bench and bullpen a little and MAYBE trade Castillo and sign Hudson.

I’m all for trading for Gonzalez, and our main competition remains the Soxxx ….

not sure we have to put FMart, Pelfrey, Davis, and Havens all together in this deal …

we might even be able to work Murphy into the package, who knows — and i agree with substituting Maine for Pelfrey.

if Davis continues to do well in the AZ league, he would quickly become the centerpiece of the deal, and we’d just have to build around him, so throw in Maine and you have the bulk of the deal right there. maybe leave in Havens and add another lesser prospect (pitcher).
