I would actually argue that Phillips WOULD BE a major trade. I’d be all for that.

Who are the 48 percent that want Figgins?? We do realize that speed goes faster (no pun intended) than power, plus he is not as good of a hitter as many think. I am no BA lover, but didn’t he hit in the .270s or .260s not too long ago? Avoid Figgins, Hudson, and any “speed/defense” 2bman like the plague. They don’t offer much more than Castillo and would represent a publicity stunt for than a constructive move. I can envision it now: Marquis, Hudson, and Pineiro, and then Overbay and a lesser LFer, and Minaya will say in Citi Field this will work and the Mets are back. Hint: If these are the types of moves made, the Mets will drown in their mediocrity.

signings and trades are different ….

its easy to sign players … trading takes more time and effort.

Omar should be working multiple trade possibilities, to include: Halladay, Oswalt, Arroyo …. i don’t like anything the Tigers have to dump / offer.

Those trades have nothing to do with signing Holliday or Bay or even Molina … they slightly effect Lackey, Wolf, and Marquis …

I believe that Holliday will get 6 years ~ 16/17 MIL tops

I believe that Lackey will get 5 years ~ 15/16 MIL tops

Hudson’s bargain contract will push Ps $$$ down a little, home discount or not …
