I can’t wait

MetsFan06 November 16, 2009 at 7:32 pm

I also can’t wait. Omar should have a huge off-season.

metsflip November 16, 2009 at 8:02 pm

Or else

MetsFan06 November 16, 2009 at 8:10 pm

Well, if I was Omar, this is my off-season.
Sign Holliday. Sign Lackey. Trade for Phillips and HArang or Arroyo. Trade CAstillo for a bench or bullpen player. re-sign, Cora.

MetsFan06 November 16, 2009 at 8:13 pm

I forgot to get a catcher. Sorry. Molina or BArajas I would sign. So it would look like this.

Reyes
Phillips
Beltran
Holliday
Wright
F-Core
Molina/Barajas/Santos
Murphy
P

Johan
LAckey
Arroyo/Harang
Pelfrey
Maine/Perez

metsflip November 16, 2009 at 8:27 pm

Good, only put Murphy at the second slot, i think he will have a break out season… just a hunch…
Put Phillips at 6th spot, Wright at 3rd slot and we’ll be good.

1. Reyes
2. Murphy
3. Wright
4. Holliday
5. Beltran
6. Phillips
7. Francoeur
8. Barajas/Thole
9. P

I think this is just a more balanced lineup

MetsFan06 November 16, 2009 at 9:08 pm

I will just freak out if Omar did this. He will actually be appreciated since this is finally a winning team.

djwill-son November 16, 2009 at 10:38 pm

I like both lineups Phillips batting 2nd keeps the speed up top while if you bat Phillips 6th he would be able to drive more runs in since he has pretty good pop

Those additions sound pretty realistic I would feel optomistic with that team on the field

What do you guys think about trying maine out as the set-up man?

He throws hard and is actually a pretty effective pitcher

his only problems are his walks and that he cant go deep into games

if you make him a set-up man then one problem is thrown out the window and then all you would need to solve is his walks

metsflip November 16, 2009 at 10:44 pm

As much as I like Maine as a starter, I like him more as a set-up man…
Just look at his stats his first time thru the lineup… Very nice… But as he gets later it takes a fast drop…
I wouldn’t mind seeing him as a closer actually

djwill-son November 16, 2009 at 10:47 pm

yea i think he could end up being a pretty good closer……the only thing is that we got a pretty good closer we call K-Rod

but that said assuming he would be a good closer makes me want him as a set-up man even more

I think the Mets could have a pretty solid bullpen with maine being put in

MetsFan06 November 17, 2009 at 6:51 am

I agree.

Club med schedule with so few teams on the east coast of FL now. Couple trips to Ft. Myers are the only real traveling the team will do.

Would be a good spring to take a vacation, as most the road games are withing a short drive. Viera and Jupiter.
