Oh gosh..the Florida announcers are so
bad. Washington isn’t much better, but at
least they have ray Knight doing pre and post
game. The extra innings package gives you
a broad view of the huge differences in broadcast crews throughout the league.

Whew! No doubt this is good news, I find myself braggin on Gary, Keith, and Ron all the time to my baseball buds. I get the Extra Innings package every year and watch ALOT of baseball (mostly Mets), but I see and hear a lot of announcers and the Mets crew is hands down the best in the biz.
You really appreciate them when listening to the hacks in Washington, and Florida. Or the White Sox or Yankees guys (and girl). There really isn’t a better on air team than the Mets have…I think we would win the World Series of tv broadcasters.

Matt, I agree on a few things; A) It’s great to know that Keith will be staying on. B) Bobby Ojeda after a fairly rough start fininshed strong and was actually respectable to watch by the end of the season. I have to admit though at the beginning I thought he was all wrong for that job! and finally C) GK&R are the best in the business, you just don’t realize how good they are untill you have to endure an out of town broadcast……..Oh the humanity! lol

Now if they could just get rid of Shrek, I mean Chris Carlin…I don’t understand how this guy not only has a job, but is basically the face of SNY….how do you have a broadcaster with a speech impediment, it is completely ridiculous and actually makes me not watch the post game shows

Seriously, I was in Milwaukee over the summer and caught a Cubs-Reds game being broadcast on WGN. The Cubs announcers were such homers. And for no apparent reason, they started ragging on Carlos Beltran (this was around the time Carlos made an offhand comment about Adam LaRoche).

GK&R are the best in the business.

Thank the good Lord! If it wasn’t for Keith and the banter he brings to the booth, I probably would have changed the channel a lot sooner than I did through all those lost games….
I just hope they can continue to be absolutely honest in the way the call and assess the game and the players’ performances.
Good luck Gary, Keith, Ron and Kevin – hopefully 2010 will be more fun for all of us.

When they had the “silent inning” this year, it reminded me of how espn and fox call games. You dont realize that baseball is a long game, and through all the baseball insight you need to have some off topic conversations and this is what makes them great together. From keith walking around the stadium sightseeing, to them talking about what dinner plans they have, to even kevin burkhart with his stories. SNY has one of the best, if not the best, announce/insight team around.
