Havens is not coming up for another two years. O-dog will be signed for a two year contract, after which, Havens or Tejada would step in.

Why take the older Hudson, when you have a younger second baseman in Cano? It does not make mush sense.

I also looked at the free agent list for 2011 and Cano is not there.

I would love to know what other teams are interested in Orlando Hudson besides the Mets. Have you heard any rumors Matt?

I know the Mets are trying to unload Castillo, but if they wait until that happenes before making a move on O-Dog, and another team scoops him up, what then?

My cousin who works in the Yankees front office told me it's 50/50 that Cano is a Yankee next season. If they move him, I think they will grab Hudson.

Holding onto picks is essential to try and replenish/rebuild the system. It 's why I'm not big on Molina. He's large, too old and will cost a pick.

If they could move Castillo and sign Hudson to a cheap and short contract (half of Castillo's deal) then I'm on board.

Trading Castillo will cost us, either in included money or taking back a bad contract. Just to sign Hudson for as much? No way.

I would keep Castillo unless we get an opportunity to good to be true (Millwood for Castillo would have been fine, but Texas would have been taken advantage of, which is why it was too good.

If Havens is close, and an infield of Davis -Havens - Reyes - Wright is not unrealistic, why trade Castillo in a move that could block the position for 2-3 years?

Not if we're giving up a pick. He's not THAT much better than Luis.

If the Mets can't trade for Phillips which I don't think will happen, Hudson is the next best option. I can tottaly go with Hudson as our 2B next year.
