hahaha... trust me, I loved his bat on the Mets and I would love to see that type of production out of the catching spot on the Mets again.... but that doesn't make him an overall likable character, and certainly not one that I'd like to have over for Thanksgiving dinner....

You would also think highly of Bonds' character if he was on your team too, right?

Anyway, sorry I should have just kept my mouth shut. It just annoys me when I see everyone speaking so highly of a guy who really could care less about his own fans...

I don't care if he steals sunglasses from blind people,
he could hit a curve ball into the parking lot!
And that Mr Sulls, is how ya win baseball games!

Ughh... When will people realize that Piazza is not a nice guy... He's one of the fakest people in baseball... Ernie McCracken from Kingpin would be the best comparison.

I too do not plan on renewing; I have had sunday tickets since 94, and I was not happy with the fact that the seats in front of me in Promenade 515 were the same price and were available without a plan, often the day of the game. They stuck us plan people in the last 4 or so rows.

I think I will now wait until I see what the season brings and If things improve buy individual tickets.

Mike Piazza would be first on the list no matter what. He is why I like baseball since 1996 (his almost/should have been MVP year), and a part of the reason that I am a die hard Mets fan (fyi: that started with Olerud's cycle in 1997).
John Olerud, for the reason mentioned above and because he was a pretty amazing playing, and seems so nice.
Third on this list is tough; Seaver and Keith I had many opportunities to hear tell stories as broadcasters, so I kind of already had dinner with them on many nights. Ralph Kiner would be so awesome. Every time he joins the booth it makes for a special night, even if the Mets lose, so even though I have heard him a lot I might want him. Theres, in no particular order: Ventura, Zeile, Leiter, Wigginton, Bobby V, Wright, Reyes, Beltran, Valentin, Pratt, Rick Reed, Mookie (!!!!), Trachsel and probably at least a dozen other players I have really liked and would love to meet, and thats not mentioning players who were around before I got to see them. But, since it is my dinner, I chose Edgardo Alfonzo and make it a true late 90's reunion. I might be afraid to eat dinner with some of the mid 80's Mets...
Piazza, Olerud and Alfonzo! Of course

Only 3 invitees makes it rough but I'd go with Seaver for the early years and his general baseball wisdom, Hernandez for the middle years and his absolutely hysterical statements and Bobby V for the later years and his managerial insight.

And, I've already decided not to renew my package for the first time in many years. I'm going to return the invoice with a short letter as to why. I'll explain that it's the state of the team/organization and how badly the long-time fans were treated in terms of the crappy seats that were offered (worse than at shea) for a bunch more money. Until this changes (and I don't have my hopes up), I won't be buying any more packages from the Mets.

I'm thankful to have a little more money for Christmas gifts this year. Happy Thanksgiving!

Tough one. I'd have to have Casey Stengel in the mix, for entertainment value and history, if nothing else. Willie Mays, even though he was only here for a cup of Joe, would be great. Then I'm torn between Gil Hodges and Tom Seaver. Of course, I could simply get a larger turkey and invite more Mets!
