Holliday is the better all around player. I am not looking for HRs , I just want .900 OPS and solid defense. Jason Bay gives you only part of this, with more age.

Compare for yourself:

Not saying Holliday won't happen. I'm saying Bay is a better fit and who knows if the Mets can land either Bay or Holliday. I got no problem with Delgado coming back if he is healthy ? The whole purpose is a platoon at 1B. What do I really think ? Let Ike & Murphy fight it out this spring. I think Ike is ready.

Just saying, I'd prefer Holliday or Bay for LF. If u don't think Holliday will happen, what do u think about Bay? He is a power threat IMO. And I don't want Delgado back since he will probably get injured again.

I wouldn't say Holliday is the key and priority. I would say LF is a priority. Holliday can be a key pick up for another team like the Cardinals. Why? Batting in front of Pujols and a hitters park. Do I see Holliday being a threat in Citi Field ? Not really. He's a pull hitter with most HR's right center where alot of HR balls stay in th park. Holliday would make a nice #3 hitter not a clean up hitter which is something we'd be lacking unless Delgado is resigned for 1 more year.

You know what though, I really think the Jays could get what they want by playing the Redsox against the Yankees. One of them will fold.

Additionally, I feel the Mets will do as well as the LF they bring in this off-season. Even the way the team is set-up right now, they contend for the WildCard with the addition of Matt Holliday.

I think Holliday should be the priority this year. If both could be had, then great, but Holliday is the key.

It would but I think that he wants to win in a club like the Red Sox. Not that I'm saying that the MEts won't win because they can if they have a great off-season like getting Bay or Holliday and pitchers like Sheets and Wolf or Marquis.

You would think that pitchers would be lined up to pitch in Citi Field. At this point in his career, pitching for the Mets would be great for Halladay. Playing in a pitcher's park, teamed with Santana with Frankie closing. One would think that it would really help his career numbers.
