Adam Rubin of the Daily News believes the Mets have signed 31–year-old 1B Mike Hessman to a minor league deal.
Hessman hit .217 with 23 HR in 466 at-bats with Triple-A Toledo last season. He has a .208 career average in 168 at bats, spanning three major league seasons with the Braves and Tigers, during which he played first base, third and the outfield.
