People need to chill, big time. Most of those whining here impatiently understand very little of this business. There is no reason for him to rush and there is no reason for us to rush at this point. Just because some Mets fans are impatient as a result of last year's awful season doesn't mean everyone is going to change the way business is done to make them happy.

Even if Bay was a lifelong Mets fan, it would still make sense for him to hold out until he feels he is getting the best deal he could.

Hubbuch writes in this morning's Post that The Mets are in the drivers seat.
Says the "mystery team" was Seattle and at this point the Mets stand alone on Bay and Molina. Could be a great couple of days coming up!

I don't really understand the Mets obsession with Bay to begin with. Yeah, I can understand not wanting to deal with Boras, therefore Holliday, but eventually you have to bight the bullet and go after the better player.

I would think because they can and might spend the most for Bay...that any other offers from teams (secret or not) will be brought back to the Mets to match or surpass.

The Zito and Texeira contracts were/are ridiculous...I just hope the Mets are smart about spreading their money and resources around to fill all their holes.

Hey, I'll be happy with Bay or Holliday, honestly... but I'd pick Bay first, because what the Mets need out of LF is not a pure hitter as much as they need power, and I see Bay as more of a power, HR guy at Citi than Holliday.

Either way, they need one of the two.

Agree, Holliday is so overrated, he's very good but not close to what kind of money he wants, Boras said he is like Tex.......stop it Boras, no one takes you seriously. Omar should stick to his 4 yrs 65 mill for Bay, dont go over that, if we dont get him lets spend this money somewhere else and be creative instead of overpaying this good but not great players.
