The Mets have confirmed that David Wright will be a guest of Mike Francesa for a lengthy interview on WFAN next Wednesday at 2 pm.
Jose Reyes made a similar appearances last month on WFAN, talking for nearly an hour with Francesa as well, which you can read a transcript of here.

I’m sure the first words out of Francesca’s mouth will be “David, just start rattling off what you have done this winter to pick up your Home Run production”. Hopefully he will at least be somewhat cordial and say “how are you doing?” or somthing similar before going into attack mode.
If that’s all he wants Wright to talk about as far as his own status, should be a short interview for him to speak about himself, the rest of the time will be spent talking about everyone else’s injury statuses.
Well if the Reyes interview is any indication he will be cordial and pretty passive.
Francesca HATES…. HATES…. HATES…. Jose Reyes. He actually enjoys wright and has always been pretty positive when talking about him in general.
That’s true, I dont know of anyone who doesn’t enjoy talking to Wright and Francesca was actually pretty sympathetic towards him last year when he was last man standing, so it should be a good interview.
This after being violently critical of him in spring training to the point that Wright initially canceled an interview.
I remember that, for Wright to cancel an interview you know he had to mortally offended, but at least he did the stand up thing and called Francesca to clear the air.
During his interviews with him last season, he was actually very good with Wright, he actually seemed fairly receptive to the answers given and didn’t interrupt him constantly.
I can’t wait. Wright will be awesome in the studio. He might make a joke about saying bro
forgot about that HAHAHA… I think i blocked out all of last year, spring training included.
Prior to that incident, though.
is it true the mets claimed jay marshall from the A’s?
yes
Blog pool:
How far into the interview will Francesca use the words “bad clubhouse”?
I would not be surprised if that comes either right before or right after the HR status, LMAO. How many Mets players need to say that they do not have a bad clubhouse it before he believes it to be the truth?
I don’t think he cares about the truth of it, I think he just wants to keep the issue in discussion.
Agreed, its a conversation piece, nothing more really.
Francesa did a very good job with Jose Reyes and I did not detect any type of animosity. In fact, lately he has been very complimentary about what type of impact player he is, how until this past year he played almost every day, etc. It is okay to hate Francesa if you want, but at least be truthful with your criticism.
I was not being critical of Francesca,. He has been a lot better with the Mets recently and yes, he was very good with Reyes and i’m sure he will be fine with Wright.
He is being nicer because Minaya is feeding him Info.
hes also being nicer becuase he wants met fans to lsiten
Agreed.
I think David can crush at least 25 interviews this year. Last year’s low number of interviews was probably a fluke, the result of no protection in locker room and just trying to adjust to WFAN’s new offices.
The only real good thing about next Wednesday is that it brings us a week closer to spring training. As for the interview, it’s an interview with Mike F. Not sure how excited I can get about that. Woohoo. There you go; that’s all I got.
I think the Yankees buying a World Series has mellowed Francesa a bit,and he doesn’t feel the need to take out his frustrations on the Mets. For now…
I thought that Francesa was probably a bigger Reyes fan than Wright fan, Francesa has bashed right and constantly said that Reyes was the more talented of the two and when he was all for break up the core, he said it would be easy to replace Wright and not Reyes because Reyes had special skills and Wright didn’t.
Also, my problem with Francesa is, he doesn’t like the Mets and he LOVES the yankees. It’s clear in everything he does and his talk show is biased because of it. He is much quicker to criticize the Mets than the Yankees because of his love for the Yankees and he is always highly critical of the mets, this bad clubhouse stuff he spouted with Jason Bay is part of it, he’d never say something like that to somebody. He also clearly has favorite players and ignores the one’s he doesn’t like. It’s clear he didn’t like Church and he managed to stir up all that stuff about Church not liking New York. He can fabricate things and he never gets called out on it because it’s his show which yes is popular and he’s popular but it doesn’t mean he’s always right
