It’s too..outside the box for most managers/teams. Including Manuel.
I’d tell Kielty come to camp, work out, show that he can hit and have at least a somewhat decent showing pitching in spring training and I’d consider him. If Kielty doesn’t make it, trade him to another team when team breaks camp or by the trade deadline.
if he doesn’t break camp with the big leagues, he will have no value in a trade.
Maybe, maybe not. I’m not saying the Mets would get anything useful for him but I’m sure if he hits enough or pitches decently some team will find that idea interesting.
He could become Brooks Kieschnick part II
