Johan Santana talked with reporters yesterday, and said, despite what some critics might be saying, he is confident in what the Mets can accomplish this season, saying:
“There’s a lot of comments on this team not being ready to go, or not being a contender… Whatever attacks they put on us is fine. At the same time, we won’t be surprised if we win. If we do the things right, if we stay healthy, it may surprise a lot of people out there, but not us, because we have the confidence that we can do it… We have the right pieces to do it. We just have to put them all together. If we are consistent from day one, all throughout the season, then we’re going to have a chance to win… My plan is to definitely win the World Series. That’s what we want to do… Whatever they want to say, that’s fine for us. We’re just going to play and have fun at the same time. That’s what baseball is all about.”

According to multiple reports, the Mets have two signs prominently displayed in their spring-training clubhouse that read: PREVENTION & RECOVERY.
…i believe there are also some trainers who have this on their jacket…
In a report for the Newsday, David Lennon talked to a team official and explains what the slogan means.
…so, instead of making actual, real-life changes to the training and medical staff, the team added people to help with paperwork and created a slogan… i do like the switch from the weight room to baseball skills…
According to Bill Price in the Daily News, the Mets also got rid of their ‘annual camp-opening agility drills,’ such as a shuttle run and vertical leap, which had been part of their required physical.
