Buzz: Mets love Ike, but asked about Adrian Gonalez
Ike Davis had two hits today, and was a guest on WFAN with Mike Francesa following the game.
In his talk with Francesa, Davis said he works hard on his fielding, in which he has a lot of pride; in fact, he says defense is his greatest strength, whereas hitting left-handed pitching is his big weakness.
According to Davis, though it’s a ‘work in progress,’ he could play right field, ‘if he had to.’
This afternoon, Jon Heyman of SI.com said, while the Mets love Davis, “They were one of many teams to call the Padres about the great 1B Adrian Gonzalez.”
