Note: Igarashi was a little Nervous
Yesterday, RHP Ryota Igarashi pitched to four batters in the ninth inning, he struck out one hitter, walked one, and did not allow a run during a win against the Braves in Tradition Field.
…i have seen his splitter and his curve ball, though he didn’t use it during the game, and they can be pretty nasty, bouncing off the plate… and so, if he commands his fastball like he did yesterday, plus uses those other pitches, he’s going to be a solid solution for that eighth-inning, set-up guy…
“I mostly used the fastball,” Igarashi said following the game. “I would like to use the splitter more. This wasn’t my normal pitching. A lot had to do with being a little nervous coming in.”
