News: Jose Reyes should be back Soon
Mets GM Omar Minaya said Jose Reyes does have ‘elevated thyroid levels,’ despite what he told ESPN.com.
According to Minaya, the team is still waiting on the results of additional testing, which will dictate when Reyes returns to Tradition Field.
He said he talked Reyes’s agent, as well as the doctors, and every one is on the same page, though he has yet to speak one on one with the player.
… from what i can gather, reyes will remain in new york until the next round of tests come in, probably tomorrow or Friday… but, in either case, though the team will not say so publicly, they expect him in uniform and on the field playing in games next week… and there is no reason, at least in regards to his legs or thyroid, that will keep him out of the lineup on Opening Day…
