News: Kelvim Escobar Hopes to Throw Tomorrow
In a report in today’s New York Post, Mark Hale says Kelvim Escobar hopes to begin throwing tomorrow.
Hale says Escobar hasn’t received permission to do so, but he has less soreness in his shoulder than he had since he started his daily exercises with minor league rehab coordinator Chris Correnti.
On Friday, Escobar told Kevin Burkhardt of SNY he probably wouldn’t throw at all until the beginning of April, but yesterday, he told Hale he could be ready to pitch sometime in April.
…this is certainly a turn of events for Escobar, and hopefully, it’s a good one…even if he is feeling better and he’s cleared to begin a throwing program, i don’t know if April is a realistic target for him to be pitching at the major league level, as he has to go through an entire Spring Training, and proceed with caution as he prepares…
