David Lennon, in a post to his blog for Newsday, says Jerry Manuel is now concerned about his starting rotation.
Regarding the rotation, Manuel told Lennon:
“I think an honest assessment is that we have to be somewhat concerned. We had some setbacks and some inconsistencies there last year, so we can’t just assume that that’s going to be lights out. We have some questions there, and hopefully tonight we’ll see where we are at least in part to that particular issue.”
…it’s a little late to acknowledge question marks on the team, let alone the most important component of the team…it’s interesting how Omar Minaya went on the radio last week and spoke about the positive track records of John Maine, Oliver Perez, and Mike Pelfrey and here we are, the season is underway, and all of a sudden, that optimism is erased and replaced with concerns…i just wish, for once, this organization could get on the same page and work together to make the best decisions possible…
