The Mets (12-9) defeated the Dodgers (8-12) by the score of 10-5 tonight at Citi Field.

- Oliver Perez started for the Mets, and he started off ok, but was lifted after just 3 2/3 innings when he appeared to lose his command and composure.
- David Wright broke out of his slump with a huge night at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a triple, including his 1000th career hit.
- Ike Davis also had a big night at the plate, going 1 for 2, with a walk, his third double and had three RBI.
- Hisanori Takahashi was outstanding once again in long relief, giving the Mets 3 1/3 innings and allowing just a run on two hits, and struck out five.
- The Mets swept their first doubleheader from the Dodgers since 1971, and it was their first doubleheader sweep since 2007 in Philadelphia.
…it seems like it’s been forever since the Mets have played so well and with such excitement…right now, this team can do no wrong, and they are taking advantage of every mistake the opposition makes…
…i thought Jerry Manuel made the absolute right call in lifting Perez in the fourth inning…he sensed things getting out of hand for Perez, and he pulled the plug before he could put the Mets behind…it wasn’t the most opportunistic time to start burning through the bullpen, but if Perez puts the Mets behind, the result might have been different in this game…
…David Wright had a huge night…when he’s going well, he consistently drives the ball in the gap the other way, and he did that with all three of his hits tonight…i can’t wait to see he and Jason Bay consistently performing at a high level together…
…i am thoroughly impressed with Takahashi…he has stepped up in a big way for this team, giving the Mets a chance to win when they get ineffective performances from their starters…
Game Ball:
Goes to David Wright for his tremendous night at the plate.
