…santana did not have his best stuff, but it didn’t matter… he managed the inning and each at bat well, his slider was nasty, he knows his stuff and how to use it, and he put up zeros… i’m still concerned about the number of people these guys are putting on base… but, time after time they keep getting out of jams, so, what do i know… i mean, the staff has a 1.02 ERA in the last eight games… in addition, the team has been playing sharp, smart defense and they’re running the bases well… add that to the way the pitching staff is performing and it’s going to result in winning seven of eight… and i like it…
The Mets and Dodgers will play the second game of today’s double header at 7:35 pm, with Oliver Perez (0-2, 3.71 ERA) taking on Charlie Haeger (0-2, 6.46 ERA).
