Note: Jose Reyes isn’t Happy with That
Last night, Jose Reyes was hitless in four at bats.
“I’m hitting .220,” Reyes said yesterday, according to the Bergen Record. “I’m not happy with that.”
In the 12 games since being moved to batting third, Reyes hit .271 with a .314 OBP, three extra base hits, four RBI and nine runs scored.
However, he has one hit in his last 13 at bats.
Manuel told the Record that Reyes is still not right, as he is still working to get his timing back.
…he was on fire after the initial switch, going 8 for 18 with a .500 OBP at one point… but, he’s been struggling ever since… in the same way i do not think he was hitting those four days because he was batting third, i don’t think he’s not hitting right now because he’s batting third… he has been making contact and hitting in to some bad luck… but, still, his swing has been long and loopy and he’s been super jumpy in the box… i’m sure he’s pressing… how could he not be… it’s been a long 12 months for jose, and the struggles continue…
