Quote: Carlos Beltran looking forward to Baseball Activities
Christian Red traveled to St. Lucie for the Daily News to check in on Carlos Beltran, who felt no pain after an hour of doing a soft-toss batting drill on a back field yesterday.
“Physically, I’m in good shape. I feel strong,” Beltran told Red. “I’m looking forward to running outside and doing things related to baseball, like in a game. Running is the thing that will dictate everything.”
…right… from what i understand, obviously, he can throw and swing a bat… the issue is: how will the bone bruising respond when he begins to run, slide, jump, etc… to me, i’m thinking more of him in the field, less on the base paths… again, though, i’m trying not to anticipate his return until i see him on a field, busting it, in game action, and feeling no pain… i still live in fear of a set back… what’s worse, even if he does get back, i hope the pain doesn’t return, which it so easily might, sidelining him yet again…
…the point is, i think it’s impossible to predict how his season will unfold, and i sense the team is thinking the same way…
