Buzz: Carlos Beltran is Still Just Jogging

by Matthew Cerrone on May 26th, 2010 at 1:49 pm

According to injury expert Will Carroll from Baseball Prospectus, Carlos Beltran is still jogging, “but hasn’t really added much to his workload.”

“There’s nothing resembling a sprint yet and there’s nothing resembling a game on the horizon for Beltran,” Carroll explains.

…like i keep saying, until i see or hear of him running, cutting, making turns in the outfield and chasing down fly balls in the gap, i can’t expect him back… i just can’t do it…

carroll also seems to be hinting that the Mets could be waiting for the 90–day mark on the disabled list, at which point they might be able to file workmans compensation paperwork… which would be an interesting twist

Carroll also has injury updates on Luis Castillo, Dallas Braden, and Grady Sizemore, who seems to be dealing with a similar, chronic knee issue to Beltran’s.
