Note: Carlos Beltran is Limping
The New York Post, ESPN New York and the Bergen Record all cite one team official as saying Carlos Beltran is still limping while running in his extended Spring Training games in St. Lucie.
The three reports quote Omar Minaya as saying Beltran is not yet able to ‘explode,’ when he runs, adding, “It’s getting better, but we’re not there yet.”
…i’ve said it once, and i’ll say it again, until he is cleared by doctors and he starts playing in actual minor-league games, against real teams, i just can’t be excited or optimistic about his return… what’s more, i still feel something weird is going on here… the Mets are no longer tweeting details about his progress, like they had been… he’s close, he’s not close… he’s making cuts in the outfield… no, he’s limping… it’s all very inconsistent and confusing, and i don’t claim to know why, or even assume to know why… it’s just, things don’t seem to add up…
