The Mets lost to the Marlins in Puerto Rico tonight by the score of 10 to 3.

…dickey did not look good tonight… it seemed the heat was bugging him a bit, his arm was dipping, his hard knuckleball was breaking in over the plate, not off it like it normally does… he just didn’t seem comfortable, from star to finish

on the other hand, nolasco had his A game going… his fastball was cooking and his breaking ball was nasty, sliding out of the strike zone with authority

Jose Reyes and others did not seem comfortable with the hard, infield surface, by the way… i recall people complaining about this the last time the Mets played here

it was great to see bay hit two home runs, though, let’s be honest, both would have been pop outs in front of the bullpens in Citi Field… nevertheless, he was going with the pitch and driving the ball, and, in Puerto Rico or not, that’s a good sign

…it was interesting watching the game, with all the music and the different cultural elements and the differences in the stadium… it was pretty cool… i feel badly for Carlos Beltranit’s got to be killing him not to be part of this… frankly, both teams seemed a bit in awe for the first few innings… hopefully, tomorrow night, both sides are more comfortable knowing what to expect

The Mets and Marlins continue their three-game series tomorrow night at 7:05 pm, with Hisanori Takahashi (6-3, 3.78 ERA) taking on Nate Robertson (5-6, 4.89 ERA).
