Pre-Game: Mets vs. Nationals
The Mets continue their four game series with the Nationals in DC today at 4 pm on FOX.
R.A. Dickey (6-1, 2.98 ERA) will start for the Mets. Dickey struggled for the first time this season his last time out against the Marlins in San Juan, allowing five runs in five innings, and taking his first loss of the season. Dickey made his Mets debut in his only other start against the Nationals this season on May 19, and allowed two runs and five hits in six innings but took a no-decision, and in his career against the Nationals, he’s 0-1 with an 8.38 ERA in two starts and three overall appearances.
Stephen Strasburg (2-2, 2.27 ERA) will start for the Nationals. Strasburg has lost his last two starts despite pitching well, and has not allowed more than three runs in any of his five starts so far this season. Strasburg has at least seven strikeouts in all of his starts, and ten or more twice.
