News: Mets sign Chad Cordero
The Mets and free-agent relief pitcher Chad Cordero have agreed to terms on a minor-league deal, according to Ken Rosenthal from FoxSports.com.
Rosenthal says the deal will be complete today.
The 28–year-old Cordero had labrum surgery at the end of 2008, he missed all of 2009, returned to pitch nine games for the Mariners this season in June. He was eventually demoted to Triple-A, but elected to become a free agent.
In 19 innings in Triple-A earlier this season, he had a 4.12 ERA while striking out 22 batters.
He let up seven runs in nine innings during his time with the Mariners.
