According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Ben Sheets has re-injured his elbow and was placed on the 15 day disabled list.
According to Slusser, A’s GM Billy Beane says Sheets has seen team doctors, but will await a second opinion before providing details on the injury.
When Slusser asked Sheets if it was possible he could miss the rest of the season, Sheets said that might be possible, although Beane said Sheets wanted to make his next start tomorrow against the White Sox.
…well, it doesn’t look like Sheets is going anywhere now…i was one of those in favor of the Mets signing him and taking a chance on him, knowing full well his elbow was a tremendous risk…for the dollars he Oakland gave him, i was glad the Mets didn’t make the move, given the injury risk, and of course, it came to fruition…
Sheets signed a one year, $10 million contract with the A’s in January, and he’s 4-9 with a 4.53 ERA in 20 starts this season.

Sweet, now we can get him on the cheap!
Shocker.
In other news, the sky is blue and water is wet.
You took the words out of my mouth . . .
I wonder if we should be congratulating Omar for NOT getting Sheets?
When Chuck Norris jumps into water, he doesn’t get wet, the water gets Chuck Norris’d.
Heard he is changing his name to Ben Gay
Don’t know about that, but I would still trade Ollie Perez for him.
Water is wet? Lol
