According to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com, the Red Sox offered RHP Ramon Ramirez to Barajas, who was put on the disabled list Monday night.
The 28–year-old Ramirez is 0–3 with a 4.69 ERA for Boston this season, while striking out 28 batters and walking 15 in 40 innings.
However, the previous two seasons, he was 10–6 with a 2.74 ERA in 141 relief appearances.
The Fantasy Sports Service describes Ramirez as, “An aggressive righty with low-90s heat… Is especially tough on right-handed hitters.” However, “He can be prone to giving up the long ball, primarily because he isn’t great at changing speeds and occasionally leaves his pitches up in the zone.”
