Cardinals like Jake Westbrook, Mets not so much
The Cardinals have made acquiring Indians RHP Jake Westbrook their top priority, according to Jayson Stark from ESPN.com.
However, the chances of him being dealt are ‘50–50,’ a source tells Stark.
Westbrook will need to be paid $6 million the rest of this season if he’s traded.
The Mets had shown interest in Westbrook, but, last week, Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com said the Mets had ‘cooled on him,’ though they were still interested in Cubs LHP Ted Lilly.
