Essential Jerry After Last Night’s Loss
After last night’s 11-4 loss to the Marlins, Jerry Manuel addressed reporters, and essentially said:
- He thought Niese still had good stuff in the sixth inning, but got away from attacking the strike zone.
- He doesn’t think Jose Reyes has been 100 percent since the initial oblique injury, but he is pleased with the way he’s played.
- The injury will be treated as a day-to-day situation for now.
- Reyes wanted to stay in the game last night, and there’s always pushes things to the limit of his abilities, but when it comes to Reyes coming back, he will be listening to the trainers.
- On the blown Ruben Tejada call, he said that was really big but those calls happen here and there.
