Buzz: Rangers Interested in Jeff Francoeur
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the deal would send Francoeur to the Rangers in exchange for INF Joaquin Arias.
Arias was the player to be named later in the deal that sent Alex Rodriguez to the Yankees for Alfonso Soriano prior to the 2004 season.
The Rangers designated Arias for assignment on August 24, and he hit .276 with nine RBI in 98 at bats over 50 games with Texas this season.

According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, the Rangers are “kicking the tires” on acquiring Jeff Francoeur, and it’s possible he could be moved today.
Teams have until midnight tonight to add players to the roster in order to be eligible for the postseason.
Rubin says the Rangers have been looking for a right handed hitter to come off the bench, and according to a source, “His name has definitely been talked about”, and they have sent a scout to Atlanta for the game against the Braves tonight.
