Morning News: Roster, Wright & Davis, and Chipper

With the loss to the Braves last night, the Mets fell to 11-15 against National League East opponents.
In last night’s game, Chipper Jones hit his 46th career home run against the Mets, which is the most he’s hit against any one team.
Before yesterday’s game, the Mets selected the contract of RHP Manny Acosta, replacing LHP Mike O’Connor on the active roster.
Ike Davis was at Citi Field yesterday, and he said he’s currently inactive with hopes the bone bruise in his ankle heals faster.
David Wright visited with doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery yesterday, and he will remain inactive for three more weeks to allow the stress fracture in his back to heal.
After the game, Wright spoke with reporters about the injury, basically saying it is a common fracture in an unusual location in his back. For more, check out the New York Post.
In the minor leagues, D.J. Carrasco allowed a run on four hits in eight innings to the Gwinnett Braves, earning his second win of the season and lowering his ERA to 4.08. Valentino Pascucci and Lucas Duda each hit solo home runs in their 4-3 victory. Reese Havens went 3 for 5 with an RBI in Double-A Binghamton’s 6-2 win over the Akron Aeros. Cesar Puello had three hits and Matt Den Dekker hit a solo home run in Single-A St. Lucie’s 5-4 loss to the Clearwater Phillies, and Cory Vaughn had the lone RBI in Single-A Savannah’s 3-1 win over the Kannapolis Intimidators.
