Morning News: Agents, Seaver, and Fatigue

The Mets evened their series against the Angels last night, which you can read more about here. They will look to take the rubber game of their three game series with Los Angeles this afternoon with Jon Niese facing Tyler Chatwood at 1:10 pm.
With the win, the Mets are now 3 1/2 games behind the Diamondbacks, Cardinals, and Braves for the National League Wild Card.

In case you missed it yesterday, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports said Jose Reyes had recently met with Scott Boras about becoming his representative, but before last night’s game, Jose Reyes spoke with reporters and said there was “no chance” he was leaving his current agent, Peter Greenberg.
Speaking of Reyes, Tom Seaver was at Citi Field yesterday, and while speaking about the possibility of Reyes leaving via free agency, Seaver basically said unless there is a game plan going forward, the Mets cannot let him go. For more, check out ESPN New York.
Before last night’s game, Terry Collins told reporters he thinks Ruben Tejada is tired, and while he expects Tejada in today’s lineup, he hopes having yesterday and tomorrow off will help him recuperate. For more on Tejada, check out the New York Post.
The Braves were the only team in the National League East to lose last night – the Nationals have won eight in a row and the Marlins have now lost nine in a row, and so here are the standings in the division and Wild Card coming into play today:

Lastly, Happy Father’s Day, dad…
