At his blog for the Daily News, in a post about the legend that is Endy Chavez, Adam Rubin notes that Edgardo Alfonzo is not expected to rejoin the Mets organization this season.
Alfonzo ended last season at Triple-A Norfolk, where he hit just .241 in 42 games with three HR and 19 RBI.

News: Mets Sign Independent League Pitcher

OurSportsCentral.com reports that the Mets have signed right-handed pitcher Dustin Cameron to a minor-league contract.
Cameron played for the El Paso Diablos of the American Association, an
independent league, in 2006 where he appeared in 33 games going 4-3
with a 3.88 ERA and averaging close to a strikeout per inning pitched.
