Former Mets’ RHP Kris Benson signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers.

Once part of ‘Generation K’, reliever Jason Isringhausen signed a minor league deal with the Tampa Bay Rays.

After not playing in the majors last season, catcher Jason Phillips has been invited to spring training by the Mariners.

And Lastings Milledge has graciously offered up his #44 to new teammate Adam Dunn, and will sport #85 this season in honor of the year of his birth.

MLB.com is reporting that RHP Kris Benson has agreed to a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.

…if the Phillies thought they had a psychological edge before, then this should really put them over the top… i mean psycho…anna benson…i’m just sayin’…

At his blog for the News Journal, citing the ‘player’s agent,’ Scott Lauber reports RHP Kris Benson is close to finalizing an agreement with the Phillies.

Benson, who missed all of last season due to shoulder surgery, is 68-73 with a 4.34 ERA in his seven year career.

…ha…i love it…this Mets-Phillies rivalry is growing and getting better by the day…can’t wait for anna to stew the pot even further…

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Phillies continue to talk with free-agent RHP Kris Benson, who missed last season recovering from shoulder surgery.

…i still love the fact that, when you search Kris Benson on Google Images, 16 of the first 20 images are of his wife…hilarious…

…i mean, the guy is a major league pitcher…something very few men will ever attain…yet, he’ll forever be known for the outlandish behavior of his wife, who is only famous because she is his wife…so weird…i wonder if this bothers him or not…oh well…

News: Kris Benson is a Free Agent

The Orioles have declined the option for RHP Kris Benson, thus making him a free agent.

Benson spent the entire 2007 season on the disabled list after suffering a torn right labrum before spring training.

In 30 starts for the Orioles in 2006, he was 11-12 with a 4.82 ERA.

The Orioles acquired Benson from the Mets after the 2005 season in exchange for RHP John Maine and RHP Jorge Julio, who the Mets eventually traded to the D’Backs for Orlando Hernandez.
